I just had to write and tell you how pleased my husband and I are with our Crown Block Salt Softener. It uses much less salt than our previous water softener and seems to be much more efficient. Also, I would like to thank you for answering questions for us before purchasing and the timely manner in which you delivered and installed the system. The softener is up and running. Enclosed is a photo of my installation. All work was done by me. The valve set and T-pieces were very easy to put together making the installation very quick.  All the parts were there in the DIY kit (which is unusual nowadays!).  Makes a nice change to put only 2 bricks at a time instead of the usual 25kilo bag.

Having had to replace my kitchen tap twice in 3 years, due to limescale, I am delighted with my softener - not only is there no limescale but soap is now useful!.......

WaterAid’s mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. WaterAid enables the world’s poorest people to gain access to these essential services, which are the basic human rights that underpin health, education and livelihoods and form the first, essential step in overcoming poverty. 

Clean water is essential for life but 1.1 billion people don't have access to safe water and 2.6 billion lack adequate sanitation. It is estimated that half of the world's hospital beds are taken up by people suffering from diseases associated with dirty water and poor sanitation. 

But disease is only part of the problem. Throughout the developing world women and children spend hours every day collecting water weighing up to 20 kg (the equivalent to an overseas luggage allowance). This exhausting task leaves little time to do any other work or go to school. If a woman is pregnant or unwell she still has to collect water as without it her family will die from dehydration. She can only hope that the water she does bring home doesn't contain the diseases kill 5000 children die every day.

Since 1981, WaterAid has been working through partner organisations to help poor communities in developing countries achieve sustainable improvements in their quality of life with improved domestic water supply, sanitation and associated hygiene practices.

WaterAid works through local partner organisations, using low-cost technologies appropriate to local conditions, and involves communities in the planning and construction of their new water supplies. Through these integrated projects WaterAid to date, has helped over six and a half million people achieve lasting health improvements and a better quality of life.
